Paul has always had a passion for live-fire cooking. After attending a BBQ competition in 2009, he was instantly hooked. He started practicing competition BBQ, assembled a team, and began competing in Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned events with his wife and extended family.
After numerous top 10 finishes and many great friendships forged, he started competing in Steak Cookoff Association sanctioned events in 2018. He went on to finish 15th in the World Championship for steak in 2019. He and his wife joined in the national points chase for a couple years and he found success in the ancillary categories which lead to a 6th place finish in the nation in 2022. He’s always been a big fan of Croix Valley and could not be more excited to be on the team!
Sue found her passion for competition food sport while competing in the Kansas City Barbeque Society. After competing for 10 years as a husband and wife team in KCBS she decided to venture out on her own and started cooking in the Steak Cookoff Association in 2020.
On her second cook she finished 1st and received her golden ticket to the SCA world finals, and she was hooked. In 2022 she and her husband decided to join the SCA points chase. She travelled across the country competing and found great success. She spent most of the season among the top 10 in the country. She finished the year in 11th place in the national points case. She is looking forward to continuing to compete and perfecting her skills.
